The Procedure Technician functions in the procedure, decontamination and sterile processing rooms with the responsibility of practicing the principles of aseptic technique. The Procedure Tech must be able to perform functions in decontamination, instrument assembly / disassembly, sterilization of instrumentation, and sterilization functions. The Procedure Tech must be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast paced environment as a team member with lead supervision.
The tech will be responsible for the setting-up, breaking-down, and sterilization of in-office procedures and their necessary instruments. This will include but is not limited to: Cystoscopies, biopsies, vasectomies, uroflows, urodynamics, bladder scans, and other.
This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practicesï¿½ patient population. Participates in the practiceï¿½s quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
Medical office experience, as well as an understanding of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology and extensive computer experience.
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Current Certification as a Central Sterile Specialist, maintained by: (IAHCSMM or CSPD) or have obtained from one year of hire date.
