A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Health System is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Knowledge of general, obstetric, gynecologic, and neonatal nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
BLS required within 30 days of hire.
Certification in obstetric nursing desirable.
Department Position Summary:
The RN in EE-Mother Baby Unit must have the knowledge and skill with electronic fetal monitoring of the obstetrical patient regardless of gestational age. They must be knowledgeable in the postoperative care of the obstetrical patient, be familiar with newborn care and assist with lactation service, as well as familiar with neonatal resuscitation, and be able to care for mom-baby couplets in postpartum phase. RN must be knowledgeable in care of postoperative and surgical services.
