Responsible for developing, supervising and maintaining programs of Clinical Pastoral Education for Erlanger Health Systems and the Chattanooga Association for Clinical Pastoral Care. Offer direct pastoral care to patients, families and staff, maintaining necessary relationships in the hospital and in the community-at-large to under gird such a program.
Required: BA - College; M. Div. (or equivalent degree) - Seminary, Post Graduate Studies, ACPE Supervisory Clinical Pastoral Education.
Required: Minimum of three years experience as Chaplain and Clinician in healthcare institutional setting; 3 years pastoral experience; minimum of eight units Clinical Pastoral Education in various clinical settings.
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required: Certification as Supervisor or Associate Supervisor by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education; Board Certified Chaplain (or eligible within one year) with the Association for Professional Chaplains; ordination as a minister and ecclesiastical endorsement.
Department Position Summary:
Directs and maintains programs of Clinical Pastoral Education with Erlanger Health System and the Chattanooga Association for Clinical Pastoral Care, supervision of ministers/seminarians who function as hospital chaplains while in CPE, builds relationships with local religious community, supervisor and facilitator of small group process, offers direct pastoral care to patients, and hospital staff, is knowledgeable in various areas of clinical, pastoral, educational, mental health, psychiatric, social and ethical concerns.
