A graduate nurse (preparing to take the NCLEX-RN) employed by Erlanger Health System assists in the direct or/and indirect care of a patient in Surgery under the supervision of a registered nurse. A graduate nurse in the Surgical Services Residency program completes clinical rotations through multiple Surgery teams while completing a Perioperative 101 Course and Nurse Residency training/mentoring.
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and eligible to take NCLEX for Registered Nurse licensure
Required: Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills
Preferred: Patient Care Tech/Nurse Tech in ICU or Nursing School clinical experience in ICU

Required: Proof of graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (final transcript, diploma or letter stating NCLEX eligibility and test date) Spring graduates must obtain Tennessee RN licensure by October 1st, Summer graduates by January 1st, Fall graduates by May 1st.

The Graduate Nurse Tech must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in BEHOR. The employee must be able to care for patients requiring operative procedures etc. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span possessing the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the units policies and procedures.
