Job Summary: The Daily Operations Manager has 24 - hour responsibility for the direct and/or indirect care of the surgical patient.
Education:Required: Graduate from an accredited School of nursing, Bachelors degree in Nursing, Management, Business, or other related field. Permissible to complete degree within three to five years of employment if not held at point of hire.
Preferred:MSN or Masters in a related administrative / management degree.
Experience:Required: Three (3) years clinical experience with evidence of leadership abilities.
Preferred:Previous Management experience.
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/RegistrationRequired: Current licensure to practice Nursing in the State of Tennessee BLS required within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:Certification in area of specialty Current BLS, CNOR Certification. It is permissible to obtain Certification within two years of employment if not held at point of hire.
Department Position Summary: The Daily Operations Manager has responsibility for the daily clinical coordination of personnel and resource management for the East Surgery, Central Sterile and Surgery Scheduling. Additionally, the Daily Operations Manager collaborates with the anesthesia staff to effectively manage, facilitate, and execute the surgical schedule for elective, urgent, and emergent surgical procedures. Will have oversight over East Central Sterile, East Surgery and East Surgery Scheduling. Will assume responsibilities of the East Perioperative manager in their absence. The Daily Operations Manager must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the units policies and procedures. This individual further contributes to nursing and the Medical Center through support of the philosophy and objectives. The Daily Operations Managers responsibilities include the accountability for quality patient care and the orientation, education, growth, and performance of the support services. This position will work closely with the East Perioperative Manager and Surgical Services Director of East Surgery.
