Position Summary
 
The primary objectives of problem management are to prevent problems and resulting incidents from happening, to eliminate recurring incidents, and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented. The Problem Manager will provide a straightforward and workable process to resolve problems and maximize client satisfaction with our IT systems and services.  

Essential Job Functions
  • Minimize the impact of problems 
  • Minimize the duration of any related outages (Lessons Learned)
  • Manage problems within agreed-to time frames
  • Managing a Knowledge Base
  • Reduce number of problems
  • Prevent reoccurrence
  • Perform trend analyses / Reporting
  • Assure performance of root cause analyses
  • Maximize productivity of resources
  • Monitor and measure the services
  • Automate tasks wherever possible.
  • Improve organizational efficiency by ensuring that Problems are prioritized correctly according to impact, urgency, and severity.
  • Identify and remove underlying causes of Incidents.
  • Incident and Problem prevention.
  • Knowledge / Experience in Cherwell a plus
  • Facilitation of Postmortem activities involving cross functional team across the enterprise and project coordination.
Qualifications
 
Education: BS Degree
 
  • Extensive knowledge of ITIL Framework and Best Practices- ITIL Certification a plus.
  • 2-3 Years’ experience in Incident/Problem management, with good problem solving skills
  • Excellent written skills a must.
  • Experience in communicating effectively with Senior Executive Management a must / must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess strong report writing skills (beyond trend reporting.
  • Requires 3 years of minimum business analysis experience.
  • Must have solid organizational skills and the ability to work cross-functionally amongst the business units and Information Technology.
