Summary: Work with Safety, Operations and Maintenance departments to provide subject matter expert leadership for new and existing professional drivers and other production employees in order for them to safely perform their responsibilities. Assist with plant inspections and accident investigations as required. This member of the safety team will spend the majority of his/her time in the field at various plant locations, on jobsites, or with professional drivers, and only a small amount of time in an office setting. The break down would work out to be approximately 70/30.
Education and/or Experience
Occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or industrial related safety and health experience. A background in DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle regulations is highly desired. An acceptable driving record is required. OSHA 10 hour card is required; a 30 hour card is preferred. The ability to present to different size groups and audience types is essential. Experience in the transportation industry and a CDL is a plus.
