    SUMMARY: The Process Engineering Tech is responsible for providing technical assistance for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes by performing inspections and tests as directed by Engineering and in collaboration with production, tool shop and maintenance.


    • Assist with the development and modification of specifications, methods, and controls to meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
    • Provide process engineering resources through continuous integration and development to achieve predefined continuous improvement targets and/or objectives.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and determine processing specifications, modifications or additions, resource requirements and machine capabilities.
    • Support, establish and manage machine operating standards.
    • Use various technical/manufacturing reports, videos, and logs to monitor and assess multiple process control initiatives daily.
    • Analyze data using (SPC) Statistical Process Control and Six Sigma tools to achieve continuous improvement goals plant-wide; be a subject matter expert in each of these areas.
    • Perform various material testing and tooling certifications.
    • Setup and determine molding processes that are stable and repeatable by creating and frequently validating setup sheets.
    • Establish molding processes for new products and act as a liaison between engineering/technical support, production and other support departments.
    • Follow the corrective action process to track, analyze, document, prioritize and assign resources to proactively resolve ongoing processing control issues.
    • Consult with internal and external subject matter experts to resolve technical and process control issues.
    • Report food safety concerns to management.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.


    • Previous experience in injection plastics molding and processing is preferred
    • Experience in the area of manufacturing operations, process validations, design of experiment and statistics required
    • Associate degree in Engineering Technologies or Injection Molding or related field is preferred


    • Ability to learn new technologies and become a subject matter expert quickly
    • Expert knowledge of process improvement methodology
    • Proven track record driving process yield enhancement, cost reduction, and SPC systems
    • Capability to utilize problem solving skills
    • Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/activities/goals
    • Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and tactful in dealing with people at all levels
    • Must be self-motivated and positive
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
    • Display highest ethical standards
    • Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information
    • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office products

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand dexterity to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, in the plant environment the noise level will be loud.
