GENERAL STATEMENT

About the position:

Assists students with daily care activities ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Other responsibilities include providing classroom instruction, charting formal objectives and assisting students with art and recreational activities.

Responsibilities Include:


* Perform daily care activities for students ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Instruct students according to daily classroom schedule.
* Chart formal objectives and document individual progress.
* Assist students with various art and recreational activities.
* Perform miscellaneous duties such as preparing bulletin boards and cleaning the classroom.





About you:


* High school diploma or equivalent, plus six months of experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
* Completion of Basic Resident Care course is required.
* Work requires frequent physical activity including extended periods of standing, walking, and bending with occasional periods of sitting, kneeling, climbing, stooping, crouching, squatting and balancing. Work also requires constant reaching between knee and shoulder level as well as frequent reaching below knee level and overhead. Work requires occasional independent lifting up to 25 pounds, frequent push/pull up to 40 pounds of force and the ability to safely transfer 50 pounds.
