Job Description

This position works with the Carpenter Foreman in performing all activities related to fabrication and setup of forms for all precast concrete products fabricated in the plant, as well as performing miscellaneous carpentry work as directed and other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Utilizes approved piece tickets to construct forms for specific precast concrete panels in conformance with the architectural specifications and applicable PCI requirements.
  2. Meets regularly with the Carpenter Foreman to discuss anticipated production sequences and potential form construction problems, and to provide input on improvement of work processes and work flow. 
  3. Provides information to the Carpenter Foreman on the inventory status of all form-related material so that supplies and materials can be ordered in a timely fashion to ensure performance of scheduled work without interruption.
  4. Performs miscellaneous carpentry duties as requested by the Carpenter Foreman.
  5. Properly maintains tools and utilizes appropriate safety guards.
  6. Manages carpentry workload for himself in a manner that minimizes the necessity for overtime, and works overtime only with the approval of the Carpenter Foreman.
  7. Comes to work regularly and on time, in accordance with company policy.
  8. Maintains plant safety in accordance with the Enterprise Properties Safety Manual and the direction of the Safety Coordinator.

Qualification Requirements:

1. Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2-3 years of general carpentry experience.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and technical specifications. 

Ability to read and understand construction drawings and piece tickets.

      Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to calculate area and volume.

       Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry.   Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.  This employee will be required to wear all safety equipment required of regular plant personnel and may be exposed to fumes and airborne particles.  The overall noise level is moderate, with occasional periods of loud noise.
