Internship Description
As an engineering intern you will have varying opportunities to gain more experience in the engineering field.  At Hallmark we design, manufacture and distribute a wide variety of products used by our consumers to connect with those they care about.  This internship opportunity is for industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering majors. Industrial engineering majors generally work on projects surrounding Lean principles and process improvement tasks that increase our efficiency, reduce waste and improve the quality of our products.  Mechanical and Electrical engineering majors work on projects related to design and building of equipment solutions used in the production and distribution of products.  At the completion of the summer you will present your work and recommendations to senior leaders in the Supply Chain and Business Enablement division.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing a degree in an engineering discipline with a graduation date of December 2018, May 2019, December 2019, or May 2020
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 or above (overall) that must be stated on resume

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with a graduation date of December 2018 or May 2019
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High learning agility and problem solving.  Smart risk-taking.
  • Excellent analytic skills
  • Goal/results oriented; works with urgency and a high degree of personal accountability
  • Manages well through ambiguity
  • Previous internship experience in an engineering discipline

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Internships could be based at Hallmark Headquarters in Kansas City, MO or in any of the surrounding facilities Liberty, MO; Leavenworth, KS; or Lawrence, KS. This internship will occur summer of 2018 (typically end of May through early August). The intern program at Hallmark is the primary source for full-time hires. Full-time hire decisions are based on performance and business need. #internhallmarklife
