Our company was founded in Omaha, Nebraska, and is a rapidly growing specialty pharmacy serving patients across the country. We have eighteen locations from California to Maine, allowing us to ship to patients in all 50 states. This year we have opened 9 new operations from Portland, Maine to Florida. Responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy shipping department. Responsible for the accuracy of shipping addresses on all shipped items. Responsible for all time sensitive shipments going out on a daily basis. This position is on-site Monday through Friday.
1.Follows correct pack out procedures for outgoing refrigerated/non-refrigerated specialty orders.
2.Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
3.Monitors weather at shipping locations to select proper pack out.
4.Loads/unloads freezer bricks into freezer for use with refrigerated shipments.
5.Uses computer system to ship and track all shipped packages. Generates shipping label for outgoing prescriptions as needed. Monitors and selects best shipping option to get packages to the patient by the needed date.
6.Monitor shipping exceptions and arranges alternate delivery with an outside courier company to recover distressed or delayed packages and ensure appropriate delivery arrangements are made.
7.Takes emergency packages to shipping carrier after cutoff time or delivers to patients' if needed.
8.Creates end of day shipping manifest; files end of day shipping information.
9.Track missing shipments for patients/facilities. Monitors alerts for packages that did not arrive.
10.Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
11.Prepares boxes for future shipments during slow periods.
12.Maintains adequate inventory of package inserts and educational materials; works with appropriate staff to order or print supplies as needed.
13.Monitors and alerts all staff of holiday, weather and other unexpected shipping issues.
14.Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
15.Inspect outgoing packages to ensure quality and accuracy of shipment.
16.Examines outgoing shipments to ensure address and postage accuracy.
17.Work closely with the Shipping Manager to ensure all procedures are being followed.
18.Adheres to all company policies as indicated in the handbook and directives issued by management. Has reviewed Accreditation Policy and Procedure manual.
19.Maintains professionalism at all times and works as a team member with all other employees in a courteous, respectful and cooperative manner.
20.Assist with other projects as assigned by the Pharmacy or Shipping Manager.

Six months or less of similar or related work experience
HIPAA trained and /or the ability to work with and protect extremely confidential patient and employee information
High school diploma or equivalent
