WHO ARE WE?
The Empowerment Network is a non-profit dedicated to uniting and transforming Omaha. Step-Up Omaha! is an initiative of the Empowerment Network, in collaboration with the City of Omaha and other community partner agencies. We serve as a resource for youth and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 in the area of employment. Through our summer employment program and year-round initiatives, we work to prepare the future workforce. We address life skills and basic employment skills through our approach.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The Youth Career and Life Skills Coach works under the supervision of the Employment Director to create and implement employability skills curriculum. This role focuses on youth development but also includes interfacing with parents, educators, community partners, and employers. This position will primarily serve the South Omaha area and requires that the coach be fluent in Spanish. The coach is responsible for meeting one on one with interns to develop individual development plans and recommend goal achieving strategies. In addition to serving the youth and young adults, a large component of the role will be to execute a plan to increase engagement in South Omaha. This role is responsible for case management, outreach, recruiting, and providing administrative support for interns during the school year and summer.
