BI-LINGUAL FAMILY ADVOCATE
HEAD START PROGRAM
WCCA seeks a Family Advocate for the Council Bluffs Head Start Program. Duties of this position include planning and implementing the recruitment of age/income eligible children and families, implementing the Family Partnership process by assessing and building on family strengths and community assets, educating, counseling and referring individuals for assistance, advocating for families, identifying and removing barriers to self reliance to enhance children’s and families self-worth.
Solid record keeping skills and maintaining confidentiality is required. Family Advocate’s must enjoy working with families from various cultural, economic, social backgrounds.
Ability to speak and write in both English and Spanish, 1 year relevant experience, valid drivers’ license and auto liability insurance is required. Prefer candidates with, BA/BS in Social Work, or related field – will consider experience in lieu of education. Family Advocate’s must be excellent communicators, have good organizational and recordkeeping skills, dependable transportation.
