The Aged and Disabled Waiver provides the option for eligible children to receive services in a home and community based setting as opposed to an institutional setting. This position is responsible for the review and certification of documentation related to pediatric eligibility for the Aged and Disabled Waiver. 

$25.972 - Entry rate - Salary based on experience

The Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Pediatric RN provides medically-related training and program support for services coordinators statewide. Support includes consultation for services coordinators to ensure pediatric participants of the Aged and Disabled Waiver maintain a plan of services and supports that accounts for the participants health and welfare. The Katie Beckett category of eligibility for Medicaid is certified by this RN position. The HCBS Pediatric RN collects and reviews data for trends, reviews data to make eligibility determinations, and respond to appeals. This position will participate in numerous committees, such as the quality improvement subcommittee and mortality review committee, and will serve as an active member in the development, implementation and training of a new standardized assessment tool which is part of Nebraska's Long-Term Care Redesign. 
REQUIREMENTS: Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Nebraska and experience working as a professional Registered Nurse.

PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in a related field. At least 5 years' experience working as a professional nurse. Experience in providing community/public health/pediatric nursing care or related program management. Proficient with MS office suite.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation is required. 
Knowledge of/experience with the principles and practices of professional nursing theory; general procedures followed in various types of physical examinations and treatment; professional medical terms, diseases and physical conditions, federal and state laws, rules, regulations, policies, and services pertinent to Medicaid and Long-Term Care; treatments available in specific nursing fields; the functions of social service agencies; available community medical services. Experience with medical needs and treatments for persons who are aged, experience physical disabilities, and/or have complex medical conditions. Ability to gather information, analyze data, develop recommendations, and write reports. Effective oral and written communications skills to present information or direction on program policy and procedures to staff, contractors, clients, and providers. Proficient with MS office suite.
