DESCRIPTION:
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has a wonderful opportunity as a Federal Aid Administrator II within our Medicaid and Long-Term Care Division. 

NSOB-Lincoln, 3rd floor 
Monday thru Friday; 8am-5pm

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
As a Federal Aid Administrator you will be responsible for:
  1. Prepare annual subawards for all subrecipients using the annual budgets approved by the Fiscal Program Manager (FPM).
  2. Review bi-annual budget revisions of subrecipients. a. Reconcile with Reservation Table and Carryover/Special Award allowed amounts as applicable. b. Prepare amendments for the subawards affected by the budget revision.
  3. Process payments to subrecipients. a. Check for accuracy. b. FPM will assign a Business Unit (BU). c. Track payments through the state accounting system and resolve issues as needed. 
  4. Provide technical support to subrecipients as needed.
  5. May travel and participate in onsite monitoring reviews of subrecipients. This will require some overnight travel.
  6. Develop and maintain written procedures for all items listed in this position description. 
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in grants management, business administration, public administration, accounting, budgeting, or a related fiscal field, and two years experience in grant management, contract administration, accounting, budgeting, or other fiscal related areas of work. Additional years of experience in the areas listed may substitute for the required education, on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERRED: A Bachelor's in Accounting or higher, experience with government grants, sub awards and contacts and auditing experience. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Managing multiple projects, with multiple funding streams, over multiple fiscal years, is necessary. Prioritizing work and asking for help is important. State accounting system and payment processing is desirable.
