Salary: $14.678 Trainee $16.798 Worker (after training)
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Located at the Local DHHS Offices in Fairbury, your day would include face to face and telephone interaction with customers of varied socio-economic levels gathering financial and demographic information. Computer databases are used to update, document and verify customer information, accurately process assigned work tasks and prepare correspondence. Expectations for this position include contributing to and promoting a positive work environment; comfortably and effectively participating in team work; responding positively to feedback, correction and redirection.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIREMENTS: 24 semester hours of post high school education in behavioral sciences, public/business administration, social sciences, education or closely related field OR experience in customer service, determining eligibility for public assistance, examining/processing financial loan applications, medical or unemployment insurance or rehabilitation claims, unemployment services OR a combination of education and experience in any of the above areas.

PREFERRED: Experience relating to database use, telephone based customer service, and call center experience. Demonstrated experience with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. NFOCUS a plus.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Mandatory Attendance during 3 - 4 week Classroom Training Period at our Training Center is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Please highlight knowledge, skills or experience relating to database use, telephone based customer service, and call center experience. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate proficient data entry computer skills while communicating with customers; must be able to multi-task and navigate between various computer systems; have good communication skills and are customer focused; possess the ability to appropriately de-escalate client conversations; have the ability to learn quickly and successfully via webinars and on-line courses; work independently and is a self-starter; and, can apply critical thinking skills quickly in a fast paced environment. Must have good time management skills and be able to set and manage priorities.
