DEPARTMENT: Health & Human Services Department
DESCRIPTION:
West Kearney High School, located at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney, is seeking a Special Education / Title I Instructor. Teaching assignment will begin in August at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year with an optional summer contract for 2019 available. Salary is based on the negotiated SCATA contract.

7:45a.m. to 4:15p.m. 
 
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Special Education/Title I teacher is responsible for the development of each students' skills with regards to research, reading, writing, listening, mathematics, and speaking. Further development of the fundamentals pertinent to effective communication and literate citizenship is also desired. The instructor will work to make appropriate modifications in support of each Individual Education Plan. Additional duties may include but not limited to: escorting youth, community projects, and collaborative projects with other faculty/staff members. 
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska

PREFERRED: Teaching Certificate. Candidates with Special Education endorsement, working towards a Special Education endorsement, and/or Title I experience preferred. Teaching experience in a residential treatment facility or alternative classroom would be beneficial but not required.
