|EXAMPLES OF WORK:|
Conduct site visits of nurse aide training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and that quality service and care are demonstrated and supported by all nurse aides and medication aides. Conduct complaint investigations of alleged misappropriation, abuse/neglect of residents by nurse aides and medication aides. Represent the Department at hearings and conduct informal conferences related to nurse aides and medication aides that provide resident care. Serve as a role model to insure that staff are knowledgeable of compliance/quality standards. Coordinate or participate in specific committees, advisory councils and task forces as identified, requested or directed. Respond in a professional, timely, and legally sound manner to telephone, email and correspondence inquiries regarding nurse aides and medication aides. Moderate amount of in-state travel with overnight stays required. May at times work irregular hours to accomplish surveys and goals.
|QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:|
REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework/training in professional nursing AND experience in hospital, public health or nursing administration, teaching or surveying health care facilities. A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska.
PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in nursing. Experience in long term care. Two or more consecutive years of resource management to meet multiple/competing deadlines. Knowledge in adult education, nurse aide training, nursing home experience, conducting investigations, and MS Word applications.
OTHER: Must have valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Completion of surveyor training courses as prescribed by the federal Medicare/Medicaid programs is required for continued employment. Continuing education is a requirement to maintain licensure as a Licensed Registered Nurse.

Knowledge in adult education, nurse aide training, nursing home experience, conducting investigations, statutes/regulations, and MS Word applications. Ability to work independently in an efficient, accurate, and professional manner. Must have valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
