Job Description


DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Transmits instructions to aircrews and support assets to coordinate launch, recall, execution, and terminating missions in support of operational events. Maintains certilication in the Emergency Action Procedures (EAP) of the Joint Chiefs of Slaff (JCS), Unified Commands, Air Mobi ity Command (AMC),  United States  Strategic  Command  (USSTRATCOM),  and  National Guard  Bureau (NGB). Gathers information for Operational Reporting (OPREP) regarding significant events or incidents involving personnel and wing assets that require reporting to HHQ, Contingency Operations, significant peacetime events, and s.ate emergency situations. Advises the commander on reporting requirements. Dictates which methodology and systems are to be used in tracking diverse aircraft mission movement. Selects and submrts numerous mission movement reports in support of wing and HHQ tasking. Submits flight plans and coordinates changes to FAA via Aeronautical Information  System  (AtS)  or  voice  systemslo  support  flying  (mission) operations.   Must have extensive knowledge concerning both domestic and international flight planning. Prior to submission of flight data, will review and evaluate  proposed flight  plan for  technical  accuracy  and  compliance  with appropriate directives. Performs other related duties as assigned.





: Selected candidate is required to be assigned to a compatible military unit and MOS/AFSC in accordance with TPR 303.  AFSC: 1CXXX

Meeting the months of experience requirement will not by itself be accepted as proof of qualification. Quality, type, and scope of experience or education must be demonstrated to show that applicant is fully qualified to perform duties at the grade level announced.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems.

REQUIRED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in arranging or procuring transportation for personnel, cargo or freight. Experience in pre and post auditing of freight bills, bills of lading, and personnel transportation vouchers. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. *For positions requiring supervisory functions; experience which included responsibility for the supervision and management of personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Resume must reflect applicable experience.

Knowledge concerning both domestic and international flight planning.

Ability to evaluate and interpret situations which would require multiple reports to be submitted on events that are on going.

Ability provide  a variety of briefings to aircrews concerning safety of flight issues such as Notice to Airmen (NOTAMS), airfield advisories, weather, etc.

Ability interpret and coordinate mission changes with on base and HHQ.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelors degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements. Education -Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements.  Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS.  Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section.

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS - For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
