APPOINTMENT FACTORS :This position is the Federal/Excepted Civil Service and is open to current members and those eligible for membership in the Arizona Air National Guard. Individual selected will receive an Indefinite Appointment
and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered
Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Air National Guard and be able to qualify for the following AFSC: 2A6X4
Max Military Grade: E5
Note: This position is subject to rotating or night shift work.
NOTE: Current 162WG Maintenance Group members who hold the 2A6X4 career field will be placed in a military position commensurate with current rank. All other applicants outside of the career field who apply at a higher grade then advertised will be demoted
Acceptance of a Federal Excepted technician position of over 179 days in length will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (BONUS). Individual selected will be required to take a pre-employment medical screening which will be paid for by the Agency.
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) funds are not available for this position.
QUALIFICATION: AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC (FUELS), WG-8268-05/08/10, E1-E5
WG-05: Must possess at least 6 months experience or training which demonstrates the ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical principles? Experience which demonstrates the ability to learn procedures used to jack and perform hydraulic and pneumatic systems check. Experience in identifying basic malfunctions when source of trouble is easily located by appearance, sound, or response. Experience which demonstrates the ability to learn procedures used to service, maintain, disassemble, assemble and repair pneudraulic ground equipment. Experience using various hand tools. Experience which demonstrated the ability to follow written instructions.
WG-08: Must possess at least 12 months experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling, assembling and repairing pneudraulic ground equipment. Experience using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications?
WG-10: Must possess at least 18 months experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems; experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts; experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies; experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling, assembling and repairing pneudraulic ground equipment; experience using hand tools and test equipment; experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE IN THIS POSITION:
1. Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical principles applied to Fuel Systems.
2. Ability to read and interpret technical publications, plans and schematic diagrams.
3. Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform fuel leak evaluation, classification and repair including organic sealant removal, aircraft surface preparation, and application of organic sealing compounds.
4. Ability to inspect, remove, install and adjust various fuel system components such as fuel lines, valves, pumps, and switches to ensure proper operation.
5. Knowledge and ability to document maintenance actions both in electronic and written format.
6. Knowledge of safety requirements as they apply to Aircraft Fuel Systems Repair.
