MILITARY COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
: Selected candidate is required to be assigned to a compatible military unit and MOS/AFSC in accordance with TPR 303. AFSC: 21AX
Meeting the months of experience requirement will not by itself be accepted as proof of qualification. Quality, type, and scope of experience or education must be demonstrated to show that applicant is fully qualified to perform duties at the grade level announced.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.
REQUIRED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training in computations of cost data on labor and materials, buying materials or reviewing data with respect to man-hours, machine time, materials consumed, etc. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc. Experience in supervising subordinate personnel, establishing work priorities, overseeing work in progress..
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Resume must reflect applicable experience.
Knowledge in coordinating and ensuring timely development of weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance plans, flying schedules, and documentation of historical data. Ensures engine management responsibilities are accomplished in accordance with applicable directives
Ability to understand and develop all required plans to include, but not limited to, the aircraft parking plan and emergency war order (EWO) contingency; and exercise and emergency action plans; to ensure applicability and consistency and to avoid duplication and confusion.
Skill in reviewing reports and statistical data from subordinate functions and other sources for the purpose of evaluating overall maintenance program status or identifying exception, trend, or problems areas.
Ability to provide guidance and assistance to unit and gaining command intelligence specialists and serve to coordinate on projects jointly undertaken by the unit, gaining command, and other organizations.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section.
For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS - For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
