Job Description

Duties

-Assists in establishing policies and procedures for management of Youth Programs, such as school age programs, instructional classes, sports and fitness, community/family special events, pre-teen and teen recreation, and specialty camps.

--Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and practices of professional childhood education and training and the behavioral needs of youth with emphasis on social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development

--Knowledge of youth program principles, concepts, techniques, and the methods and processes involved to effectively plan and conduct ongoing social and sports programs

-Assists in minimizing the potential for child abuse or neglect by applying all pertinent DoD, AF, and local guidance, regulations, polices, directives, and procedures.

--Skill in applying basic principles, concepts, and practices of the youth programs sufficient to perform entry-level assignments in planning and developing school-age youth programs

-Assists in the preparation and justification of budgetary requirements for all aspects of youth programs to project quarterly expenditures, and monitor operations in concurrence with funds allocated.

--Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).  Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

FOREIGN EDUCATION

 

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.  It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

 

Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have six years after degree completion to apply.
