Job Description


The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted position is to serve as the subject matter expert for Services and to manage Services activities, including Prime Readiness in Base Services (Prime RIBS). As such, the incumbent of this position will perform the following duties:

  • Plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day activities of the Services function..
  • Manage the combat readiness of the Sustainment Services Flight.
  • Serve as principle advisor to senior leadership on all Services Readiness issues.
  • Act as Unit Resource Advisor, Wing Lodging Liaison, and Food Service Coordinator.
  • Ensures completion of required administrative duties.


You must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 grade level, or other pay schedule, pay band, etc., in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes in-depth knowledge of Services management programs such as billeting, food service operations, laundry services, physical fitness/recreation operations and wartime mortuary affairs. (To be creditable, specialized experience must meet the above quality level requirements).

The assessment questionnaire is designed to measure your ability in the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  (1) Knowledge of organizations mission, programs, and activities. (2) Knowledge of operating program and skill in applying analytical, evaluative, and investigative techniques to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of Services deployment operations and programs. (3) Knowledge and understanding of a comprehensive range of staff concepts, objectives, policies, management/organizational techniques. (4) Ability to plan, organize, and assign work and to communicate both orally and in writing.

Position may or will require incumbent to:  (1) Obtain and retain a secret security clearance as designated by security access requirement (SAR) code.  (2) Incumbents regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. (3) Work is primarily sedentary although some physical effort or exertion may be required in the performance of duties.  Some episodes of moderately heavy objects of 80 pounds or less. Extensive walking and standing if required if involved in mobility operations, exercises, and deployments.
