MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an Excepted (Dual Status Military Technician) position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Arkansas Air National Guard. Selectee must be a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard and be assigned a compatible military position in Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 3D1X1, 3A1X1, 3S0XX. Must become compatible in the AFSC within 12 months of appointment. Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (Grade Inversion). Enlisted members currently at a higher grade than allowed by the position (see Military Grade Requirement above) may apply; however, they must administratively reduce prior to appointment and provide confirmation of the reduction to HRO.
SPECIALIZED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 9 months of the following:
Experience performing administrative work, gathering information, compiling data and preparing reports.
Experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or law.
Experience using oral and written communication.
PLACEMENT FACTORS: Applicants should demonstrate through prior experience, education and training the following: (1) Knowledge of administrative files, publications and procedures. (2) Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and required agency formats. (3) Ability to identify and research a wide variety of administrative problems to determine the best solution when there is not one absolutely correct or appropriate solution and recommends course of action to be followed. (4) Skill in operating word processing equipment. (5) Completion of appropriate technical school/Career Development Courses (CDCs).
DUTIES: Serves as the focal point, local authority and expert source for information for all administrative functions of the unit. When current practices or deviations in an assignment cause problems, the incumbent uses own initiative and judgment to resolve them and coordinates efforts with other employees involved in or affected by the nonstandard procedures. Identifies and researches a wide variety of administrative problems to determine the best solution when there is not one absolutely correct or appropriate solution and recommends course of action to be followed. May perform duties as a Personnelist or Recruiting assistant. Performs other duties as assigned.
