Job Description

Duties

Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded worker(s). Performs the full range of shop work.Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. Specialized Experience: Experience or training operating, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting and overhauling fuel systems and components. Experience or training initiating and controlling the movement and storage of fuel supplies by operating high pressure systems with a series of terminals connected by cross-country pipelines or multi-fuel storage and distribution facilities connected by a network of internal pipelines.

Physical Effort: Duties require standing, climbing, working in strained positions and lifting heavy objects weighing 50-75 pounds. Items over 75 pounds will be lifted with the assistance of other workers or lifting devices. Must meet physical requirements, including vision, hearing and depth perception.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: N/A

Applicants who are substituting education for specialized experience (totally or partially) must submit either an official transcript or a statement from the registrar, dean, or other appropriate official of the OPM approved educational institution (military schools & most technical schools included).

Other Requirements: A pre-employment physical or medical screening may be required for placement to this position Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT) program as a condition of employment.

Security Clearence Requirement: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position Failure to complete prescribed courses for new personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination.

Note: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowance is not authorized for this position based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Governments interest.
