Duties

This announcement is a Public Notice. This is not an announcement for an open vacancy.  You are applying to a resume database, your resume and any documents submitted will be retained for six months and may be used at any time during this period.  When a position is requested to be filled under the Schedule A Hiring Authority, a list of applicants will be provided to management for review and possible selection. You will not receive any notifications and your resume will not be reviewed for qualifications until a position is requested to be filled.  If you do not provide all required documents at the time of application, your application will be considered incomplete and you may not receive consideration for positions.

Documentation of disability is required, i.e., Schedule A Letter.  Such documentation is used to verify that the individual being hired is indeed a person with an intellectual disability, severe physical disability, or psychiatric disability. This documentation must be provided to the hiring agency at the time of application, before an individual can be hired. Documentation of eligibility for employment under Schedule A can be obtained from a licensed medical professional (e.g., a physician or other medical professional certified by a state, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory to practice medicine); a licensed vocational rehabilitation specialist (i.e., state or private); or any Federal agency, state agency, or agency of the District of Columbia or a U.S. territory that issues or provides disability benefits. 

Submission of a VA letter does not qualify as a "Schedule A" letter.  You must obtain and submit the Schedule A letter in addition to your VA letter as the VA letter is used for Vet preference purposes, not in determining the Schedule A disability.

In addition, upon hiring, the individual with a disability or the agency Human Resource office should complete the Standard Form 256. The SF-256 includes the legal definition of disability and lists various disabilities, including several that are considered targeted disabilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies as related to the pay plan, series and grade of the position being filled.  Final qualifications determination will be assessed based on OPM Classification Standards, General Schedule Qualifications Standards and/or Wage Grade Job Element Standards (or equivalent pay scale). 

EDUCATION: Some positions may require "Basic Education" depending on the series and grade level of the position.  If you are applying to positions based on your education or a combination of education and experience, your transcripts are also required at the time of application for consideration.

The DETAILED description of your work experience in your personal resume must clearly demonstrate that you have gained and currently possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position being filled. When qualifying based on education and/or training, all transcripts and/or certifications must be submitted at the time of application. 

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE:  Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).  Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
