Job Description

Duties

-Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of Financial Management

-Performs a variety of work assignments consisting of established, specific, and related tasks that have been selected to orient the employee in the practical application of basic principles, concepts, and techniques of occupational field

-Participates with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects. Studies Air Force requirements for the projects and researches and studies the current body of precedents and technical knowledge.

-Analyzes information or data gleaned from project results, documents project findings, and prepares reports of findings

-Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives.

-Assists senior personnel in determining the validity, feasibility, achievability, and efficiency of special studies, projects, and initiatives, and participates in planning the studies, projects, and initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)

-Knowledge of basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices in the technical area of Financial Management

-Skill in applying basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to perform student trainee assignments

-Ability to follow instructions and guidance to complete assigned tasks and communicate information to others in oral or written format

-Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather and interpret pertinent data, and apply established rules and procedures in order to recommend effective solutions

-Ability to learn and apply basic investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject-matter field

-Ability to gather and analyze basic facts, information, and data, and draw conclusions

Qualifications

Recommend areas of study: Seeking a Degree in any field which included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours, or 36 quarter hours in financial-related coursework (with a minimum of 3.0 GPA in this coursework.  Examples of financial-related coursework are college-level mathematics, accounting, operations research, business management, financial analysis, quantitative analysis, economics, public administration, and computer science.

Air Force Qualification Standards

To qualify for a GS-04: Completion of 2 academic years of post high school study or an associates degree in a related field of study

To qualify for a GS-05: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelors degree or completion of 4 academic years of pre-professional study.

To qualify for a GS-07: Completion of 1 academic year of graduate level education, bachelors degree with Superior academic Achievement as provided in the "General Policies and Instructions" for Qualifications Standards Operating Manual, or 5 academic years of pre-professional study.

To qualify for a GS-09: Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education or masters or equivalent graduate degree.

FOREIGN EDUCATION

 

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.  It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

 

 

 

 You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university:

·         Accepted for enrollment or are enrolled in an approved program

·         Pursing  a Baccalaureate Degree (Junior/Senior only) , Graduate Degree or Professional Degree

·         Enrollment must be at least half-time course load as defined by the education institution (typically six hours or equivalent for undergrad and three hours or equivalent for grad)

·         Have a good academic standing (no less than 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale)

·         Meet the qualification standards of the position

·         Must be at least 16 years of age

·         A U.S. citizen or a national (resident of American Samoa or Swains Island). Non-citizens may be eligible for employment if:

·         Permitted by the DoD Appropriation Act

·         Eligible to work under U.S. immigration laws

NOTE: U.S. citizenship is required for a noncompetitive conversion to a permanent or term appointment with the Department of the Air Force.
