Duties

THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION

This position is located in the Plans and Resources Flight of the Communications Squadron, Mission Support Group, of an ANG Aviation Wing. The primary purpose of this position is to implement and administer the Information Resource Management Program within the Wing/Base network and manual operating environments. This includes the management, organization, direction, control, and customer education of all actions associated with the collection, creation, use, and dissemination of official information, and related records to include the administration of Wing/Base assigned Information Management Personnel according to governing directives at Wing/Base, tenants and geographically separated units if assigned.

Qualifications

GENERAL:  Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration.  Experience using computer and automation systems.

Information Resources Specialist, GS-0301-09:  Must have 24 months experience advising commander on 3D0X1 utilization and training issues; Perform Staff Assistant Visits with written reports. Write Training plans and EPRs. Coordinates with Higher headquarter elements; Experience serving as webmaster for all internet and intranet pages; Experience publishing local policy for content management on Wing SharePoint Site. Management and oversite of Wing Record Management Program; Experience serving as Wing Content Management Program Develops, implements and maintains work center training programs; Experience providing training for Wing Information Resources personnel. Plans for deployment/contingency support. Manages Wing Freedom of Information ACT (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The following knowledges, skills, and abilities will be used by the selecting officials to determine the best qualified applicants from which selection will be made: 

1. Skilled in oral and written communication.

2. Knowledge of guidelines, methods, precedents and techniques applicable to the specific programs or phases relative to the position.

3. Ability to supervise, plan and direct the work of subordinate staff.

4. Ability to conduct studies, prepare reports, and make suggested changes to eliminate ineffective operations.

*CREDITING EXPERIENCE:  NATIONAL GUARD SERVICE MAY BE CREDITED AS FULL-TIME EXPERIENCE WHEN EVALUATED AGAINST THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR A MILITARY TECHNICIAN POSITION.  EXPERIENCE MUST BE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSITION AND MUST BE DESCRIBED IN THE WORK EXPERIENCE SECTION OF THE APPLICATION AND/OR résumé. THE LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE IS DETERMINED BY THE ACTUAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMED.  BE DESCRIPTIVE, A SIMPLE LIST OF JOB TITLES AND DATES WILL NOT SUFFICE. 

Conditions of Employment:

Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance.

Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards.

Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.
