Job Description

Duties

The following list is not comprehensive but provides a snapshot of some of the duties that may be required of this position:

  • Develops, manages and implements daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly operational and maintenance plans for assigned general and special purpose vehicles and a variety of equipment.
  • Performs analysis on a wide range of production indicators to assist in improving productivity or in determining causes of production delays.
  • Manages the registered vehicle fleet for the Stock Record Account Number (SRAN) to include Geographically Separated Units (GSU's).
  • Manages Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) program.
  • The incumbent acts as the primary source of expertise for material control, to include ordering parts and equipment items through E-SS and tool inventory of tool crib and composite tool kits (CTK's ) annually.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

General Experience: Applicant must have experience which provide he candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

Specialized Experience:  Applicant must have at least 24 months specialized experience preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes.  Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the Selecting Official based on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • Knowledge of the production methods, procedures, equipment, materials, and personnel skills available or that must be identified/acquired to accomplish recurring maintenance/repair and to develop a program to control long term scheduling of maintenance and repair of general and special purpose vehicles and equipment.
  • Knowledge of production control procedures and operations sufficient to utilize multiple process production methods and procedures to coordinate maintenance requirements of a variety of vehicles and equipment to include those of a complex nature, (i.e., special use equipment/vehicles) to collect, compile, correlate and maintain production and scheduling data.
  • Knowledge of policies, regulations, and processes governing production operations to carry out all production control assignments within the function.
  • Knowledge of product and manufacturing terminology, data, and standards of assigned vehicles/specialized vehicles and equipment to obtain required parts, correlate and analyze a variety of production schedules and effectively communicate with contacts.
  • Knowledge of LIMS-EV Vehicle View and E-SS  to receipt, issue, turn-in, and ship vehicles.
  • Knowledge of various automated data systems to input, retrieve, and/or produce computer generated products.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in order to coordinate vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair to ensure proper scheduling and expediting of the work.

Other Requirements: For positions requiring  the operation of motor vehicles, selectee must have a valid state drivers license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

For positions requring a security clearance (Secret or Top  Secret), selectee must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

National Guard Compatibility:  Once an applicant is selected and prior to being placed in the technician position, the selectee must be assigned to165th Logistics Readiness Squadron in the Georgia Air National Guard as an Enlisted member in AFSC: 2T3XX.

Rank inversion is strictly prohibited.

Wear of the Air Force uniform as prescribed by AFR/NGB/GA NGR is required for incumbent of this position.  Acceptance of this position constitutes concurrence with this requirement as a condition of employment.
