Duties

The primary purpose of the position is to perform specialized IMINT duties as a Distributed Ground Station (DGS) crew member and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with IMINT Tasking, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TPED). Provides real-time IMINT TPED support to National Agencies, Joint Commands, Air Force Major Commands (MAJCOMs), Air Operations Centers (AOCs), and US and coalition airborne assets in exercises and contingency operations. Ensures real-time and near-real-time IMINT reporting and analysis is timely and accurate.

Qualifications

In order to meet the minimum qualifications for this INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST  position, you must meet the following criteria.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 

Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.

 

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelors degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.

 

KSAs:

Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the KSAs listed below.   Applicants are encouraged to address the KSAs in their application or resume or by submitting a supplemental statement with their application.   Written response to each KSA will ensure that specialized experience criteria is recognized and credited.

 

1. Knowledge of subject matter along with a working knowledge of conference, briefing and interpretive techniques.
 
2. Knowledge of collection and dissemination techniques and sources as well as the ability to produce instructions and manuals with a minimum of direction.

 

3. Ability to ensure a successful mission, maintain a thorough knowledge of all aspects of intelligence specialty area.

 

4. Ability to evaluate and interpret raw intelligence data and prepare post-mission reports based on the analysis of patterns, trends, and characteristics.

 

5. Ability to analyze and evaluate raw data in functional area in order to produce finished intelligence reports under general supervision.

 

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:  Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
