Duties

The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position is to serve as a Program Analyst accomplishing analytical investigative studies relative to aircraft maintenance performance and to serve as the automated maintenance data systems manager.  Incumbent of this position will perform the following duties:

  • Accomplish investigative studies of problem areas involving elements of maintenance operations and programs.
  • Manage the Maintenance Management Information System (MIS) G0-81 Core Automated Maintenance Information System (CAMS for Mobility).
  • Manage small computer program to include hardware and software inventory, requisition, maintenance, program requirements, custodial duties, and security.
  • Develop and implement long-and short-term training plans to achieve qualification and proficiency objectives for assigned Air Force Reserve personnel.
  • Perform manpower utilization and allocation audits of the maintenance complex.

Qualifications

You must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or qualifying pay band under other pay systems in the Federal Service which has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as shown below required to successfully perform the duties of this position.  Experience which provides a through knowledge of maintenance data systems; analysis of maintenance data and, oversight of the units small computer program. (To be creditable, specialized experience must meet the above quality level requirements).

(1) Knowledge of aircraft maintenance organization management, administrative, and reporting procedures.  (2) Ability to determine the appropriate statistical method of computing raw data and interpret the results of statistical tests, report findings, charts, graphs, etc.  (3) Ability to maintain files of analysis data.  (4) Knowledge of computers and computer software.  

Substitution of Education for Experience: Masters degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education from an accredited institution leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D. in a relevant field of study (e.g. Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources or Organizational Management).  Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is related to the duties of this position.  If qualifying based on education, a legible copy of your college transcript identifying Institution name and location, type of degree awarded and date conferred is required. NOTE:  OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT MUST BE FURNISHED UPON APPOINTMENT.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Position may or will require incumbent to: (1) Meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbents regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. (2) Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.  (3) Work is primarily sedentary.  Typically the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work.  However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, driving an automobile, lifting boxes of printer paper, and relocating computer hardware.  (4) The work environment is comparable to an office setting with controlled environment, requiring normal safety precautions.
