Assists in receiving and reviewing work requests (oral and written) for validity, accuracy, and feasibility and insuring proper coordination with outside organizations such as safety, fire, security, communications, occupational health, and environmental. Assists with implementing procedures required in the management and operation of unique work control systems estimate requirements for materiel, man-hours, and equipment time. Assists with determining funding type, preparing job/work orders, and approving requests within his/her delegated authority. Monitors and controls the flow of work to ensure the most economical and efficient use of personnel, funds, and material. Coordinates with Material/Deployment Manager on assignment and utilization of all vehicles and equipment for the purpose of supporting scheduled work. Conducts reviews of work processes, work flow, and space utilization, and determined improvements that were appropriate. Serves as a focal point for automated civil engineer work control and supply programs. Operates various computer programs and automated systems utilized by civil engineer relating to on-base work control or material handling activities. Maintains automated reports depicting status of civil engineering work and supplies. Identifies and documents maintenance support problem areas, recommended corrective action and performed follow-up action. Establishes and operates a customer service center that included operating and managing civil engineering storage facilities, coordinating movement of equipment and material, soliciting and reviewing customer feedback, conducting trend analysis, service calls, and providing guidance for self-help customers. Plans for and ensures proper marking of equipment and hazardous/sensitive materials. Ensures proper palletizing, labeling, storing, transportation, and disposal procedures were followed. Assists in planning, formulating, analyzing, and coordinating civil engineering supply budget submissions. Records expenditures and maintained current on-hand balances. Manages civil engineering mobility equipment and supply programs. Manages the organizational logistics for civil engineering activities to ensure effective material and equipment support. Manages civil engineering equipment/material accounts through a sophisticated Integrated Engineering Management computer system. Performs vehicle control responsibilities by determining vehicle requirements, monitoring vehicle status and training program, investigating and reporting incidents. Performs other duties as assigned.
GS-07 Specialized Experience: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience which provided you with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of shop production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data; experience assisting variety of production control processes including planning, estimating, scheduling and expediting work and supply tasks in direct support of assigned facilities and Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) for a Civil Engineer Squadron (CES). The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to maintain workflow by identifying problem areas in work delays or stoppages, and schedule workflow in more than one area.
General Experience: Must possess experience, education or training which indicates you can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.
