Research and Development Manager

Foundation Supportworks, Inc. Papillion, NE
Save

Job Description

Are you passionate about researching, designing and testing chemical solutions? Supportworks Inc. is looking for an R&D Manager to help take our innovative concepts from the drawing board to the field, where they’ll improve the lives of homeowners across North America.

What we do:

Supportworks designs, manufactures and distributes industry-leading foundation and concrete repair products available exclusively to dealers in our Network.  We also provide dealers with dedicated training, software and support to help them grow and sustain their businesses. We are redefining the contracting industry by fueling remarkable experiences for homeowners, bigger dreams for dealers, and fulfilling work and lives for employees.

At Hello Garage, our goal is to transform America's cluttered car stalls into welcoming foyers for family and friends. Backed by more than 40 years’ experience and the research and manufacturing power of Supportworks, we’re also transforming the contractor-customer relationship.

How we do it: The HOW is just as important as the WHAT.

We bestow the gift of high expectations. When we assess ourselves, it is not only about “what” our performance is, but “how” we are going about our work, our interactions with other employees and the way we carry ourselves every day.

We put the good of the team above ourselves, working together as one company, supporting and helping each other to redefine our industry. We are sincere and trust each other’s intentions, listening attentively, speaking candidly and treating each other with respect. We have a bias for action and a scrappy way of getting things done – we self-start, take risks and root others on in doing the same. We are vulnerable and authentic; we don’t pretend to be who we aren’t. We understand that no job is beneath us.

As R&D Manager, you will:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements of products, develop concepts and translate needs into chemical solutions.
  • Immerse yourself in current, desired and related product categories and identify relevant suppliers that can help us meet our objectives.
  • Analyze technical documents to understand product characteristics and utilize the information to recommend proprietary product designs.
  • Brainstorm, research, test, evaluate new materials and recommend solutions to product problems and opportunities for optimization.
  • Leverage a high level of self-motivation and hands-on skills to design and execute product test plans to ensure products meet quality and performance objectives.
  • Serve as product expert and educate internal and external stakeholders on product benefits and procedures.
  • Meet annual organizational and individual development goals and objectives.

SKILLS crucial to success in this role:

  • Process-driven mindset with strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task.
  • Organization with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in unknown or undefined paths.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication and comfort leading trainings and presentations.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty by conducting product testing and installations.
  • Knowledge of chemical compositions or concrete or surface applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of schooling and experience required
  • Minimum one year of experience working with chemical compositions
  • Valid driver’s license
