2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description

Oxbow Animal Health, a growing manufacturer and global distributor of premium nutritional foods and supplements for small animals, is seeking a talented individual to assist with warehouse functions to include loading and unloading of trailers and supporting of production processes. Reports to:  Warehouse, Logistics & Inventory Manager


  • High School degree or equivalent preferred
  • Three years of warehouse experience, including experience supervising others
  • Valid driver’s license

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to work with hay and hay-based products
  • Ability to bend, twist and lift 65 pounds while working
  • Ability to operate standup forklift, sit-down forklift, end-rider jacks, pallet jack and floor sweeper
  • Ability to operate RF equipment


Lead a team of warehouse employees to accurately and efficiently perform warehouse duties. Provide training, monitoring, support and feedback. Verify outbound and inbound shipments, oversee loading and unloading of trailers, and provide support to the company’s production and quality management teams. Enforce departmental and company policies, and communicate effectively with all departments.



  1. Arrive prior to the start of the shift and ensure that all equipment is ready for the start of the shift.
  2. Remain at work after the shift ends to ensure that shift-end cleaning and preparation for the next shift is complete.
  3. Ensure that the warehouse team understands and adheres to Oxbow quality standards.
  4. Maintain warehouse equipment in good working order. Oversee training of employees to ensure proper operation of equipment to prevent injury, damage to equipment, and unnecessary downtime.
  5. Communicate performance feedback daily, providing clear information, positive feedback, and suggestions for improvement.
  6. Collaborate effectively and support teams in production, quality and maintenance.
  7. Encourage and motivate the performance of production team members.
  8. Keep the warehouse orderly and safe, performing daily equipment safety checks.


Oversee and perform the following:

  1. Support of production department (stage production materials, remove finished products from production, and scan product to correct warehouse location).
  2. Picking (pick product in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures).

Inventory Control

Oversee and perform the following:

  1. Cycle counts (conduct location counts, prepare reconciliations and adjustments).
  2. Monitor warehouse locations, prepare system moves and intra company transfers.
  3. Damaged items (record damaged items, properly manage disposals).


  1. Suggest procedural changes; draft and edit standard operating procedures, as directed.
  2. Adhere to company safety and food safety procedures.
  3. Other duties as assigned.
