Reports to:   Quality Assurance Supervisor

Purpose:

Perform within the Quality Assurance team to ensure the highest standard of quality for the Oxbow Animal Health product lines, specializing in quality documentation. This position will focus on maintaining document control processes, production batch record reviews, test results data entry, and performing product releases.

Requirements:                                               

  • Associate’s degree required or years of experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 0-1 year's expereince with standard operating procedures, inspections, quality testing methods, and documentation systems.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, E21 software)
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Self-disciplined to consistently review documentation according to written procedures
  • Accurately perform data entry
  • Ability to spend the majority of the day at a desk in an office environment
  • Ability to give and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Maintain positive, productive relationships internally and externally.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain the document control process according to standard operating procedure.
  2. Suggest and initiate changes to quality standard operating procedures and forms.
  3. Review, approve, and file all production batch records.
  4. Review incoming inspection and testing forms and perform related E-21 dispositions.
  5. Collect, prepare, store, and submit samples to contract laboratories.
  6. Perform Quality Assurance product sample testing and verification.
  7. Effectively and professionally communicate product information with vendors and internal staff.
  8. Follow all Food Safety procedures.
  9. Enter all laboratory testing results for release and customer samples according to standard operating procedures.
  10. Ensure all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, and maintained according to procedures.
  11. Perform primary back-up functions for the Quality Control team with inspections and testing procedures.
  12. Investigate and document low-risk non-conformances to a root cause and improvements.
  13. Accurate data entry into electronic spreadsheets.
  14. Organize and file paperwork and electronic forms.
  15. Assist with Product Quality and Regulatory Compliance department projects.
  16. Readily perform tasks not specifically prescribed by job description, as requested by supervisor.
