Education Sales Executive Omaha NE

Boyd Jones is a uniquely values-driven organization that provides expertise to school districts throughout the construction project life cycle. Our Education Group services include facility assessment, pre-bond planning, bond issue campaign management, construction management, general contracting, and maintenance.

The Education Sales Executive will be responsible for the sales process for all PreK-12 Education opportunities in a specified territory. This includes prospecting, qualifying, directing the team through the pursuit and proposal development process, presenting to prospective clients, facilitation of meetings, and contract negotiation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains an active presence in the PreK-12 community and professional organizations; develops and maintains a strong local/regional network to support ongoing sales efforts
  • Attends trade shows, conferences, and other association meetings to stay in tune with market conditions and trends, competition, and to establish relationships with clients and prospects
  • Identifies, attends, and provides 'thought leadership' at industry-specific trade association meetings, conferences, and conventions
  • Presents, promotes and sells Boyd Jones services using compelling arguments based on data and analysis
  • Continually works to understand the competitive environment for PreK-12 projects and Boyd Jones' competitive advantage
  • Learns and understands aspects of school finance, political trends, community engagement, construction methods, and state legislation that impact school construction projects
  • Identifies, pursues, and develops new business opportunities and develops positioning plans to win work
  • Directs the collection & analysis of data, utilizes data to support business decisions
  • Collaborates with marketing, graphic design, and communications team to facilitate proposal and presentation development when acting as the lead on the pursuit
  • Inputs and maintains CRM data for projects when acting as the pursuit lead
  • Learns, executes, and enhances Boyd Jones' strategy and approach to the K-12 market, identifies new strategies and service opportunities
  • Establish, develop, and maintain successful long-term relationships with clients and partners
  • Ensure continuous enhancement of the Boyd Jones brand
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and skills in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding their individual needs, motivations, and goals are essential
  • Ability to challenge conventional thinking, solve problems, and develop creative solutions to assist our clients in fulfilling their mission
  • Ability to maximize profitability and generate future work through building relationships
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to participate in after-hours networking or similar events/meetings to enhance business relationships
  • High degree of persuasive "selling" skills required - related to ideas and policies within the organization, as well as products and services in the marketplace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time throughout the Midwest region to meet with clients, visit project sites, attend necessary public meetings, trade shows or conferences, etc.

Experience:*

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of proven/measurable sales success in construction, architecture, engineering, commercial banking, commercial real estate or a related industry preferred

Education & Training:*

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction, marketing, management, business or a related field preferred

*Equivalent education and experience will be considered
