Training Support Specialist (Administrative Assistant)

Nebraska Families Collaborative (NFC) is currently seeking a Training Support Specialist to provide a wide variety of advanced level clerical support and administrative functions to the Training team, as well as, provide assistance to other staff and visitors.  This position is responsible for tracking training requirements and reporting quarterly and annual training data.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Schedule meetings, rooms, and coordinates calendars as requested.
  • Type and distribute departmental correspondence reports, memos, and projects from notes or drafts.
  • Photocopy and fax information and documents as needed.
  • Record, transcribe and distribute meeting minutes within appropriate time frames.
  • Ensure files are up to date and papers and files are clearly marked for easy access.
  • Conduct some training as needed.
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment, curriculum databases and training records.
  • Provide reports and follow up for employees who do not complete necessary training requirements.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and understanding. The training coordinator will work with the department supervisor and specialists to develop specific training to meet the needs identified by auditing.
  • Ensure the smooth and effective functioning of training events and special projects.
  • Coordinate training schedules and evaluate applicable outside training resources.
  • Responsible for development of reporting for measuring training needs and results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to ensure quality training programs.
  • Requires initiative, motivation, creativity and ability to understand many areas of expertise.


  • A High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years of general office experience; some college is preferred.
  • Training experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Care Coordination Services program and Family Centered Practice Model a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of Administrative, office administrative procedures and practices, and Filing methods.
  • Must have working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software including Excel, Publisher, Word and Adobe Pro.
  • Knowledge of NFOCUS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of application processes for TANF, Medicaid, and economic assistance a plus.
  • Knowledge of community supports/resources a plus.
  • Ability to type accurately.
  • High problem-solving ability, sound judgment, and creativity.
