Construction Project Manager

Commercial General Contractor with over 30 years of building experience is looking for an experienced project manager to join our team. Projects include new construction, conversions, tenant build outs, and remodels for retail, commercial office, and restaurant and healthcare clients.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum five years' commercial construction project management experience.  AOI is customer service and quality oriented, and most projects are for repeat clients or by referral.  Strong communication skills, demonstrable leadership skill and a pro-active team approach are essential.  This position may require occasional travel within the US.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Timberline, Microsoft Office, and/or related software knowledge and experience required.
  • Knowledge and operational understanding of OSHA, building codes, and state, local, and federal regulations related to the construction industry.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret the most complex construction documents.
  • Estimating experience preferred.
  • Manage jobs varying in size and scope. (From $5,000 to $5 million).
  • Strong positive and professional communication skills are critical; in person and via various electronic platforms.
  • Work with and communicate effectively with architects and engineers.
  • Establish and develop vendor, subcontractor, and customer relationships.
  • Adaptable and able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited or no standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions and owner concepts furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong organization and project coordination skills required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in construction management, engineering, construction technology, estimating, or related field preferred; or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years related construction and/or project management experience.
