Residential Specialist II

**Position qualifies for Hiring Bonus**

 

 Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required 
  • Preferably with at least one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled populations or a human service field degree or specialized training 
  • Ability to transport clients in your personal vehicle
  • Have a good driving record, a valid Nebraska driver’s license, and current automobile insurance
  • No record of abuse or neglect or police record of a felony
  • Must attend orientation and training
  • Ability to project a caring and professional manner with co-workers, clients and the general public
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to client rights
  • Have proven skills in communication, verbal, written, and listening; observation; and problem solving
  • Knowledge of human growth and behavior, time management skills, understanding of social systems and the ability to handle a variety of situations and individuals.  
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Ensure habilitation programs are completed on individuals in residence.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and submitted in a timely manner
  • Ensure individual finances are maintained and documented accurately
  • Responsible for daily monitoring
  • Responsible for ensuring that individual needs are met and that the residence has ample supplies and food for the residence
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Daily communication with Residential Coordinator
  • Develop and implement habilitation programs and service objectives per the ISP team.
  • Develop and implement positive behavior support programs per the ISP team. Interact with individuals int he home and assist in providing opportunities for individuals to participate in community activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of care plans.
  • Monitor progress and compliance
  • Ensure quality assurance within residence.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals residing in home, co-workers, supervisors and members of the community
  • Effectively promote, teach, and assist individuals with daily life skills
  • May attend individual care plan meetings and service reviews
  • Complete documentation and ensure weekend staff complete documentation
