Residential Specialist I 

Position Qualifies for Hiring Bonus

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care to individuals residing in the home
  • Assist individuals in budgeting funds and shopping
  • Effectively promote, teach and assist individuals with daily living skills
  • Assist individuals in planning and participating in group, social and recreational activities
  • Work along side individuals to ensure the home (inside and out) is clean and orderly
  • Assist and instruct individuals with medicaions and personal hygiene
  • Complete and maintain required documention on a web based system
  • Ensure individuals' needs are met respectfully with dignity and personal choice
  • Assess client level of functioning
  • Monitor progress and compliance with individual service plan
  • Provide a safe living enviroment to meet the individual needs and enhance the skills of the residence
  • Effectively communicate with the Team
  • Establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • May attend Individual Service Planning meetings (ISP)

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma required.
  • Prefer one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled populations or have a human service field degree or specialized training. 
  • Must be able to work a split shift (6am to 8am plus 4pm to 10pm)
  • Must possess a Valid driver's license and have a good driving record
  • Current automobile insurance
  • Ability to drive clients in your personal vehicle
  • No record of abuse or neglect or police record of a felony
  • Must maintain confidentiality and protect individual rights
  • Have proven skills in communication, spoken,  written, and listening; observation; problem solving
  • Knowledge of human growth and behavior, time management skills, and understanding of social systems
  • Ability to handle a variety of situations and individuals.
