Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Nuclear Fuels Manager located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. Position closes December 31, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
The incumbent holds overall management responsibility of the core and fuel management, core reload design and licensing, Special Nuclear Material (SNM) control, procurement of fuel and services, and administration of fuel fabrication and other associated contracts.
Education and Training:
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.
Prior Related Experience:
A minimum of eight years engineering and/or engineering supervisor experience is required. Engineering experience in support of an operating nuclear power plant is preferred.
Must be qualified to ANSI N-18.1-1971 requirements. (Documentation of qualifications is a condition of employment).
Ensure state-of-the-art tools, competencies and capability to evaluate core reload design and monitor core performance.
Provide procurement of cost effective uranium, conversion, enrichment, fuel fabrication, control rods and other required services.
Maintain an environment that supports and encourages open communication.
Provide oversight for fuel related activities of engineering services contracts.
Manage core reload design process and optimize reload core design to support safe operation and achieve NPPD goals.
Incumbent is accountable for miscellaneous other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth.
Pay Grade - 17 Monthly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $11,213.00 - $14,297.00
Travel Required: Will vary by location of successful candidate. Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
