Position Summary
This position is accountable for developing and maintaining applications and custom code, implementing and supporting application configuration, and developing analytics and reporting required to support the District’s business processes. The incumbent will participate in the full project life cycle process including gathering requirements, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support of applications. The incumbent must work closely with our business unit customers and technology teams to ensure business requirements are implemented and meet customer expectations.
This position will specifically be working on metering software utilized in billing units for a large customer base. The incumbent will learn from the senior analyst the details, procedures, and processes necessary to support this workload. Upon retirement of the senior analyst, the incumbent will be the technical solution owner for the technology used in this process.
Education, Training and Experience
Technical Analyst:
Bachelor's degree in information technology (IT) or related field. OR associate degree and three years of technical IT experience, including specific experience, as listed below. OR High school diploma/GED and five years of technical IT experience, including specific experience, as listed below.
System Analyst:
Bachelor's degree in information Technology or related field and 3 years technical lT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) an Associate degree and 6 years technical lT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and 8 years technical lT experience including specific experience as listed below.
Preferred Technical Skills:
- Experience with development and database administration
- Experience with updating Servers and PCs to current patch levels
- Disaster recovery plan development and testing
- Develop and support exports and Imports to multiple sources for daily and monthly use
- Support workstations, modems, databases, and connections to meters
Licenses and/or Certifications
Security Clearance: Incumbent may be required to satisfy any existing and future District security clearance or background check requirements for access to key NPPD locations and/or supporting sensitive business applications.
Obtain and maintain intermediate to advanced technical certification aligned with key business system platform(s) used at the District (for example, SAP, Microsoft Certifications, and Security related best practices) as applicable.
Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth.
Technical Analyst: $ 5,472.76 - $6,840.96
Systems Analyst: $6,138 - $7,673
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
