Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a NRC Examination Specialist located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville. Position closes June 1, 2020. This position will report to the Simulator and Training Support Superintendent.

The NRC Examination Specialist is responsible for technical support in the development, validation, scheduling, and administration of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) written examinations and operating tests associated with the Initial License and Licensed Operator Requalification Training Programs.
This position is responsible for the conduct of NRC written examinations and operating tests to ensure license candidates and licensed operator incumbents are examined to demonstrate applicable knowledges and abilities required by the NRC.
This position ensures the NRC examination process meets applicable internal, industry and regulatory requirements associated with nuclear power plant operations training programs.
This position is responsible to the examination process consistent with NRC, INPO, and NPPD/CNS requirements.
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience (OR) an associate degree and ten years relevant experience (OR) a high school diploma and 12 years relevant experience.
Relevant experience is defined as working experience in a related technical area with an additional one year experience in instructional/training related activities.
Licenses and/or Certifications
A current or previous SRO license or SRO certification is required.
Salary Information: $8,455-$10,889 Monthly
Travel Required: None Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
