MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Maintains an environment wherein participants feel safe and secure.
Advises participants on Housing Handbook rules, safety procedures, security precautions, and community adjustment.
Provides emotional support, prompting, and encouragement to participants.
Ensures orderly, clean-living conditions by scheduling and supervising clean-up and submitting repair requests.
Provides on-site supervision and monitoring of Housing facilities.
Offers personal and professional guidance to participants.
Leads by example in terms of character, integrity, and level of maturity.
Checks in with participants regularly to ensure that things are going well and address any concerns they may have.
Reviews logs for safety (cameras, overnight logs/checks, safety checks).
Implements and maintains the Successful Futures Housing program with the goal of providing education, resources and supports to participants.
Provides on-site support and coaching (Focus Meetings).
Submits reports, surveys and evaluations.
Supports the application and selection process for housing.
Plans and collaborates prosocial activities (i.e., celebrations, holidays, honoring birthdays, holding traditions, etc.).
Implements the intake process for Housing participants.
Coordinates with consumers including employers, agencies, and mentors.
Provides transportation as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability and desire to work and live with older youth.
Must have the willingness to work flexible hours in order to assist participants as needed.
Proven record of sound judgment and ability to work with individuals in a mature and responsible manner.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychological, psycho/social, educational, safety.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy.
Exhibits strong organizational skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field required. In lieu of a degree, equivalent and related work experience may be considered (e.g. 4 years of experience with the Boys Town model).
Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and families is required.
Minimum 21 years of age required.
Possess and maintain a valid drivers license with a good driving record required.
Available to provide crisis response 24/7 required.
available to work non-traditional business hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays required.
CPR/ First Aid certification required (will be taught).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Boys Town Model is preferred.
