This position is responsible for providing budget accounting for grant and state funds supporting the work of Nebraska EPSCoR. This will include providing and receiving budget information for our partners at Nebraska colleges and universities who receive our funding as well as national funding agencies who provide our funding. Providing information and support for grant and other financial reports is also required. This position will work closely with other grant and departmental accounting personnel to ensure funding is being spent appropriately and in a timely manner. Occasional travel may be needed to accomplish this. This position will also provide the regular accounting functions of the office such as reconciling monthly charges, submitting invoices for payment, etc. The Nebraska EPSCoR Office works as a team, so this position may assist with other EPSCoR business including outreach efforts and the planning and organization of the annual state conference and other EPSCoR sponsored events.
Associates degree in a related field and three years of professional financial, accounting, grant report writing work experience OR a bachelor’s degree is required. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in addition to proficient editing and proofreading skills and an eye for detail and accuracy.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in accounting, grant management and report writing, financial planning and management. Project management or experience managing assignments with deadlines.
Working knowledge of data management techniques and familiarity with database software including SAP enterprise system experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe pdf editing, and DocuSign.
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge is acquired may be considered.
