Responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining computer hardware and software technical support and service for the entire facility, including technical service and support policies and procedures. Responsible for diagnosing and problem solving end user client computing and communication devices including hardware and software components. Responsible for creating and documenting problem solving methodology for unique problems. Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols and procedures. Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for Madonna as a whole, including upholding the mission and values for the department and facility.



  1. Compile, analyze, compute and coordinate basic preventive maintenance tasks to minimize hardware and software malfunctions.
  2. Analyze, obtain and utilize diagnostic utilities as an aid to diagnosing common malfunctions.
  3. Compile, analyze and maintain a working knowledge of the computing hardware and components utilized at Madonna.
  4. Maintain awareness of new technology, or technology not currently utilized at Madonna that might be beneficial to users. Communicate with immediate supervisor and customers and support customers in analyzing, implementing and coordinating such new technology.
  5. Maintain a safe environment, including assuring safe equipment operation through a preventative maintenance program.
  6. Synthesize, analyze, and coordinate the usage of computer equipment.
  7. Compile, analyze, and coordinate the installation and implementation of new programs into the system.
  8. Analyze, compile, coordinate, and prepare special reports in response to information needs of Madonna departments.
  9. Maintains clean and orderly ITS storage areas.
  10. Ensures ITS standards and procedures are documented and adhered to; maintains comprehensive technical documentation of systems.


  1. Must perceive customer relations as a primary focus to the department and continually strive to satisfy the needs of every customer in all areas of the work force.
  2. Instruct, supervise, and coordinate the training of users in various hardware and software aspects, helping, persuading, and serving to insure all personnel get the most benefit from their systems.
  3. Plan and schedule workload to maximize efficiency and quality of service delivery.
  4. Analyze, develop, coordinate, maintain and teach a learning environment for all Madonna staff regarding the communications system.
  5. Communicate effectively with supervisor and other Madonna staff regarding developments, concerns, and goals to insure quality service delivery.
  6. Serves as a contributing member of assigned committees and project teams within ITS to address needs/goals identified.
  7. Follows instruction from supervisor to perform other functions as assigned in order to achieve the goals within the department and/or system.


  1. Set up, install and operate all hardware and software required for effective information system support.
  2. Set up, operate, handle, and maintain a working knowledge of the PC hardware, servers and network hardware, cables, and other communication system components utilized at Madonna.
  3. Understand and use precision diagnostic utilities as an aid to diagnosing common malfunctions.
  4. Operate the necessary computer equipment to insure quality of service delivery.
  5. Set up, install and operate PC software.
  6. Implement and maintain, as instructed the physical wiring infrastructure for all MRH technical and communication systems.
  7. Other duties as necessary to provide complete ITS service for Madonna.
  8. Maintains and ensures a clean, organized, and safe environment for the department.
  9. Handles and operates all necessary equipment and performs required duties according to established safety standards to maintain compliance with regulations and prevent injury.
  10. Must be able to operate copier, telephone, fax machine and have proficient computer skills, including e-mail, word processing, presentation, spreadsheet functions.
  11. Provides and operates motor vehicle and travels as necessary in order to contact and service clients.


EDUCATION - Required

High school diploma or equivalency required plus 1 year post-high school education. Two years relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal post-high school education.


Experience setting up, troubleshooting and repairing PC hardware at the board level and supporting PC end users. Knowledge of MS Windows and Windows based applications.

SKILLS - Required

Must have excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills, able to elicit cooperation. Must be self-motivated, and demonstrate organizational, grammar, and spelling skills. Must have ability to work in demanding situations without adverse reaction and interact in a positive manner with staff and public. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.

Must have current valid Nebraska driverâ??s license and proof of good driving record required. Background checks are conducted. When specific authorization forms are requested so that full background and history can be obtained, employees/applicants must sign the form(s) requested.
