DEPARTMENT FUNCTION/JOB OVERVIEW
Serves members and guests by assisting and instructing safe and proper use of exercise equipment, keeps equipment clean and functioning properly, and serves as a customer service representative on the fitness floor. Provides additional customer service support in the front desk and play center areas when needed. May assist instructing group fitness classes. Responsible for facility coverage as needed. Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols and procedures. Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for Madonna as a whole, including upholding the mission and values for the department and facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Must have constant near visual acuity with ordinary hearing and speaking skills. Frequent lift and carry 25 pounds, occasional lift to 50 pounds with rare lift over 50 pounds when spotting members on free weights. Frequent walk and stand. Occasional sitting. Requires frequent bending and stooping. Must tolerate occasional to frequent horizontal reaching with both arms. Frequent grasping of both hands requiring normal grip strength based on national averages. Has potential for blood or body fluids when providing emergency care. May be exposed to biohazardous materials. May be exposed to pool chemicals. May be exposed to blood and body fluids.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/training and/or Experience)
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma and excellent customer service skills. Must have 6 months experience in a customer service work environment. Preferred candidate will have experience in fitness related capacity or be currently enrolled in college in an allied health field, such as exercise science, physical therapy, or athletic training. Must be CPR/AED certified within 30 days of hire.
