Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital ( is a free-standing physical and medical rehabilitation hospital.  Our CARF-accredited inpatient services include acute rehabilitation units for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and pediatrics.  Madonna also maintains a CARF-accredited multidisciplinary outpatient program, serving a wide variety of diagnoses.  Madonna is home to its own Institute for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering.  Madonna seeks to be at the cutting edge of rehabilitation research and promotes the involvement of clinicians in research projects. 

Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals has a full-time opportunity available in the Neuropsychology Department of the Omaha Campus.   Madonna-Omahaâ??s Neuropsychology Department employs 4 doctoral-level psychologists and 3 licensed mental health professionals.  Madonna Neuropsychology is a training site for pre-doctoral practicum students and post-doctoral residents.  Responsibilities include supervision of inpatient and outpatient psychologists, who specialize in neuropsychological assessment, rehabilitation psychology, team consultation, and individual/group/family counseling.  The Director of Neuropsychology will be involved with patient care duties as well, with possible work on our inpatient acute rehabilitation units (serving persons with brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and other neurological disorders), as well as performing some neuropsychological assessments on an outpatient basis.

  1. Responsible for providing neuropsychology services to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitalsâ?? inpatient and outpatient programs. 
  2. Coordinates, analyzes and compiles departmental goals and objectives to support hospital and clinical system direction. 
  3. Compiles, analyzes, computes, plans and monitors departmental budget in order to maintain operational expenses within acceptable limits. 
  4. Develops productivity standards in accordance with facility goals and industry standards.  Ensures productivity standards for individual clinicians are met. 
  5. Coordinates, analyzes and compiles departmental information such as job descriptions, performance evaluations, new staff orientation, to provide effective recruitment and retention of personnel and to maintain adequate and accurate records.
  6. Composes necessary correspondence internally and externally in order to communicate with customers and instruct clients and staff. 
  1. Hires, schedules and terminates appropriate personnel as necessary. 
  2. Supervises departmental staff to insure compliance with the various facilities' policies and operational definitions. 
  3. Facilitates departmental staff in meeting the various facilities' goals and objectives. 
  4. Communicates with Senior Director Neuropsychology, Vice President of Rehabilitation, and other administrative and management staff regarding developments, concerns, problems, goals, etc. to ensure quality service delivery. 
  5. Routinely meets (negotiates) with staff and clients to maintain open communication in regard to day-to-day operations and goals and objectives. 
  6. Communicates with staff on individual performance appraisals to ensure quality service delivery and recruitment and retention of employees. 
  7. Works with clinical mentors in the various disciplines in development of staff abilities and skills. 
  8. Follows instruction from supervisor to perform other functions as assigned. 
  9. Must perceive customer relations as a primary focus, and continually strive to satisfy the needs of every customer in all areas of the work force. 
  1. Operates personal computer to access information. 
  2. Maintains and ensures a safe and clean environment for the department.  Handles and operates all necessary equipment used by the profession and performs required duties according to established safety standards to maintain compliance with regulations and to prevent injury.
  3. Must be able to operate copier, telephone, fax machine effectively and have proficient computer skills, including e-mail, word processing, presentation, spreadsheet functions. 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/training and/or Experience)
An individual with training and experience in both neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology is preferred.  Management background is preferred, although otherwise qualified applicants will be considered.  A doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program is expected.   Board Certification in Neuropsychology or Rehabilitation is a helpful credential but is not required.   The applicant must possess current NE licensure or be eligible to obtain licensure within 14 months of hire.
