Immediate Supervisor: VP Facilities Management System & Ancillary Services  
Status: Exempt
Responsible for the delivery of high quality services, financial management, policy, procedure and protocol development and personnel functions for Linen Services and Environmental Services.  Responsible for all daily operations. Supervision of staff including, but not limited to, selection, hiring, orientation, scheduling, mentoring, coaching, discipline and performance reviews. Position has responsibility for financial and quality outcomes including budget planning, data collection and reporting, establishing and adhering to financial and quality metrics and capital equipment planning and procurement. Development and maintenance of policies, procedures and protocols as well as updating and maintaining job descriptions and performance review.  Deals with confidential information and use independent judgment and discretion in decision-making and problem-solving.  Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for Madonna as a whole, including upholding the mission and values for the department and facility.
  1. Compile, analyze and coordinate functions policies, procedures and protocols to ensure adequate and quality service delivery.
  2. Coordinate, analyze and compile functions goals and objectives to meet business needs.
  3. Compile, analyze, compute and coordinate operational budget to maintain functions expenses within acceptable limits.
  4. Coordinate, analyze and compile personnel information, i.e., job descriptions, performance evaluations, new staff orientation, to provide effective recruitment and retention of personnel and to maintain adequate and accurate records.
  5. Coordinate, compile and analyze staff workloads to maximize efficiency of service delivery.
  6. Compile and analyze statistical data reflecting activity of functions and assess quality and efficiency of service delivery to internal and external customers.
  7. Compile and analyze patient room cleaning and disinfection practices as well as quality data to assure facility standards are achieved and improved.
  8. Knowledge of related regulatory agency rules and regulations to include, but is not limited to, CARF, OSHA, Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, Environmental Protection Agency and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act to ensure compliance. 
  9. Provides oversight and responsibility for contract services in support of Linen and Environmental Services.
  1. Supervision of staff including hiring, orienting, coaching, performance reviews, and discipline.
  2. Supervision of staff to ensure compliance with state regulations, facility and departmentalpolicies, procedures and protocols, goals, and safety procedures.
  3. Oversee orientation of new staff to function's goals, objectives, policies and Madonna's mission and values.
  4. Communicate with supervisor and other management and staff regarding developments and areas of concern.
  5. Routinely meet with staff in regards to day-to-day operations, policies, procedures, protocols, goals and objectives.
  6. Complete staff annual performance reviews and submits to HR by due date.  
  7. Follows instruction from supervisor to perform other tasks as assigned in order to achieve the goals within the departments and system.
  8. Oversees communication with vendors and works in partnership with Materials Management to ensure the procurement of supplies and other equipment.
  9. Participate in approved professional organizations related to health care and Environmental Services field to promote personal and professional growth.
  10. Collaborate effectively with staff and all others.

  2. Operates telephone to access multi incoming calls as well as placing outgoing calls to provide prompt, courteous service.
  3. Operate computer to compile data, reports, graphs and other departmental communications.
  4. Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment.  Handles and operates all necessary equipment and performs required duties according to established safety standards to maintain compliance with regulations and to prevent injury to self or others.
  5. Operates copy and fax equipment to reproduce or send information efficiently.
  6. Operate calculator to compile data for productivity reports, budget process and cost analysis for all functions.
  7. Maintain and ensure infection prevention control standards for the department to assure infection control regulations and guidelines are maintained.
  8. Analyzes and collaborates on products, processes, and procedures for Environmental Services to assure safety for all Madonna sites and employees with an emphasis on those related to prevention of slips or trips (falls) and infection prevention. 
     Walk and stand constantly to check work service delivery - Lifting 50 pounds occasionally or lifting and carrying 10 pounds occasionally. Indoor work - Rarely exposed to outside elements or hazards. Some climbing and balancing to reach computer, books and supplies stored on high shelves. Some stooping and crouching to do filing.  Frequent reaching and handling of various papers. Requires sufficient sight to see and read reports and computer screen. Requires sufficient hearing and speaking to communicate by phone or in person.
    QUALIFICATIONS (Education/training and/or Experience)
     High school diploma or equivalency required, associate degree preferred. Three years supervisory experience required, preferably in management. Commercial cleaning and/or linen experience preferred. Basic computer skills required.
